Hon. Kim Landry Coates

Kim Landry Coates is serving her 1st term as District 10 Councilwoman of Tangipahoa Parish. She is a lifelong resident of Tangipahoa Parish. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School as a child, graduated from Ponchatoula High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree at Southeastern Louisiana University. She is a small business owner with over 20 years of banking, finance, real estate and sales experience.

Kim is a graduate of Leadership Tangipahoa and an original board member of Keep Tangipahoa Beautiful. Over the years, she spent time volunteering as a youth sports coach and a boosters member at Ponchatoula High School. She is very active in organizing and working with litter cleanups, tree planting and other environmental causes in Tangipahoa Parish.

Her goal is to support planning for the future and the sustainability of Tangipahoa Parish. She believes it is also important to maintain the character and lifestyle of our community while providing suitable infrastructure at the same time.

She pledges to lead with dignity, respect, and transparency. Public health, safety, drainage, and litter efforts will continue to be a top priory of hers. She promises to pass conservative budgets and encourage smart economic development.

Kim has been married to Steve Coates, from Pumpkin Center, for over twenty years and have three children.
